Honey, we need to talk about agents

From talkers to doers. What an AI agent actually is, why repetition is the real signal for what to automate, and how to brainstorm your first one using the 50x reframe and the 5x rule.

From talkers to doers

AI agents are the shift from things that chat to things that act on your behalf. This session framed that shift — drawing on Jack Clark's "talkers to doers" line and Azeem Azhar's mental models for working with AI — and gave attendees two practical framings for finding their first agent: the 50x reframe (what would you do with fifty people?) and the 5x rule (any task you repeat five times a week is a candidate). The take-home exercises pair those models with an "Interview Me" prompt that makes the AI probe you before it suggests anything.
